LOS ANGELES—For a series fast becoming a signature piece for NakedSword Originals, it’s hard to believe it almost never happened. But when Spain in the Ass came out last November, it was Plan B. Lucky for gay porn fans, Plan A didn’t materialize (at least not yet).
“Initially, Alter Sin and I were planning to shoot a narrative feature in September of 2024,” shares co-director Ben Rush. “Because of schedules and timing, however, we decided that a lush, artful all-sex movie made more sense and that we would revisit the scripted movie during the summer of 2025—which we’re actually shooting right now.”
Spain in the Ass featured a blockbuster two-part flip scene with Falcon | NakedSword exclusive Sir Peter and fellow icon Paddy O’Brian. As if that wasn’t enough, how about a two-part DP gang bang with Dean Young getting ravished by nine hung tops? Or two scenes with former Helix star Seth Peterson, in an exciting new phase of his career? Throw in the studio debut of newcomer Tom Storm, and that’s lightening in a bottle.
“We approached each scene as though it were a stand-alone event. Nothing was shot to meet a specific scene length or a pre-determined context. We let the performers create the vibe for their individual featurettes. Everyone clearly understood the assignment,” says Rush. “We knew we had something special the moment Alter Sin began the editing process.”
Rush notes that the minute Tim Valenti, president and CEO of Falcon | NakedSword, saw the dailies, he greenlit the sequel. The team was back in production a few months later.
“We wanted to make a film with no bigger ambition than to find the best pairings in Spain and bring out the best in them. One thing we were sure of was that we wanted to include a big group scene, and at least one where the performers stepped outside their usual roles—like the one with Sir Peter and Paddy. I think we pulled it off,” says Sin of the original.
“I think each scene in the film is unique and resonates with different types of audiences and tastes. And after the initial releases, it became clear that a sequel was possible. There were quite a few people we had wanted to include in the first volume who couldn’t join due to availability—or simply because the cast was already locked in. So it was amazing to be able to create a second part with a completely new and equally incredible lineup.”
While it may seem impossible to top the heights of the original, NakedSword is trying. And trying very, very hard. So naturally, we get another 10-man DP gang bang—this time with MrDeepVoice as the centerpiece.
“It always really comes down to the chemistry between the models. I always talk to the performers during down time to determine what their sexual interests are and whom they find attractive. I’m constantly writing it all down in my notebooks, and later try to build movies that I know will have the fire that viewers expect from a Falcon | NakedSword’s project,” says Rush. “At one time or another, both Dean and MrDeepVoice told me about their gangbang fantasies. Far be it from me to stand in the way of their dreams; in fact. I was determined to make them come true because I love both of them!”
Sir Peter and Storm have returned for the sequel, which also features Falcon | NakedSword headliner Heath Halo. The project also boasts the NakedSword Originals debut of Andrew Delta—a superstar at ASGmax—whose flip with Halo was released last week.
“Andrew is sexy, smart, and has a great sense of humor; it’s easy to see why he’s so important to ASGmax. Also, he brought pieces of his own underwear line, Good Boy, that appear in the film. I love when people take initiative and contribute to a production in unexpected ways.”
Sin was equally impressed: “Andrew is a sweetheart. I hadn’t met him before the shoot, but from the very first moment, working with him was incredibly easy. He brought such a positive attitude and was always smiling. Honestly, he’s someone I’d love to work with again—he makes everything feel effortless.”
The film also features the bottoming debut of Alexandro Cabrera, who bends over for 2024 GayVN Best Newcomer Derek Kage. Joining them all in the project are Justin Jett, Gus Torres, Alex Brand, Damien Asgard, Jack Bandit and Fabio Stallion.
“We wanted to recreate that strong sense of belonging that came out of Spain in the Ass, where appearing in the film became a sort of badge of honor. That makes us incredibly happy—to see so many performers find their place and give their absolute best,” says Sin. “The original set a precedent, and that definitely helped. People had already seen what we were able to create, and I think that encouraged some performers to take on roles outside their usual ones—especially because it was this kind of production.”
But it wasn’t without some behind the scenes drama—which ended up affecting the production. As it turns out, getting to Spain was a pain in the ass for Rush.
“The travel situation was a nightmare! I sat on the tarmac for two hours because of mechanical issues with the plane, which ultimately led to a canceled flight. Then, as soon as I was rebooked to fly later that day, there was a power outage across all of Spain, and my second flight was unable to take off.”
Rush spent 12 hours at the airport that day, and ultimately wound up back at his house. He never made it to Spain.
“Many of the performers—including Derek—were stuck in their departure cities, so it was almost for the best that I was able to reconfigure the schedule from the ground in California,” says Rush, adding that modern technology allowed him to collaborate with Sin on the direction and tone of the scenes. “FaceTime and Zoom can be lifesavers. Also, most cell service was down in Spain. Heath arrived before the country went dark, and he and I were able to relay messages between Los Angeles and Barcelona. It was all-hands-on-deck, and everyone involved with the production really stepped up to help.”
That put added responsibility on Sin, but the working relationship between the two award-winning directors proved invaluable.
“Unfortunately, Ben couldn’t be physically on set, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t present. He took care of many production elements and model coordination. We’ve done several projects together now, and the trust we have in each other allows us to work very productively, even from different locations,” Sin says.
“The first day of shooting was absolutely insane. There was a blackout across the entire country. Well, we were filming when it happened. With all the uncertainty of not knowing what was going on or how serious it could get, we decided to push forward with the shoot—and I made the call to film all scenes using only natural light.”
The project follows the release of yet another NakedSword Originals hit filmed in Sin’s homeland, The Barcelona Job (which he co-directed with Alternativa). And that followed 2025 GayVN Best Feature Heart On, another Rush/Sin collab filmed in Spain.
“Honestly, I feel blessed and grateful for the past few years. I’ve had the chance to work on amazing projects with wonderful people, and with a team at Falcon | NakedSword that has always supported me and believed in my ability to bring these ideas to life,” Sin says. “I couldn’t be happier or more thankful. I have a lot of respect for the brand, for everyone involved, and for the other producers and directors. I truly believe they’re producing top-quality content.”
And will that content include Spain in the Ass 3? The directing duo is tight-lipped at the moment, but all signs point to probably.
“Who knows!” says Sin. “What we are thinking about is creating a similar concept in other parts of Europe. There’s so much talent out there, and we’d love to help them shine just as bright—or even brighter—than the amazing people who’ve already made us shine.”
