SAN FRANCISCO—Raging Stallion Studios exclusive director-performer Steve Cruz is a believer in safer sex, so much so that he created a website to promote his grassroots campaign: HowIRoll.info. Now he’s putting his private parts where his sentiments are by lending his high-end line of signature designer condoms to the effort, in partnership with NakedSword and Raging Stallion.
Cruz and NakedSword distributed hundreds of the vibrantly colored condoms to party-goers at last month’s Dore Alley Street Fair in San Francisco.
“Filthy desires can co-exist with healthy choices,” said NakedSword Chief Executive Officer Tim Valenti, who added his company will continue to distribute the Cruz condoms at upcoming events. “We’re proud to strengthen our partnership with 2009 NakedSwordsman Steve Cruz, and to support gay men’s sex lives across the globe with safer sex resources and stylish new condoms—not to mention with loads of hot porn, of course.”
Raging Stallion, too, is distributing the condoms free of charge, including one in every order placed with the studio.
“The gay community has given me so much, I just want to give something back,” Cruz said. “Before I got into porn, I spent almost a decade working for non-profit organizations spreading messages about harm-reduction and safer sex in the gay community. But it wasn’t until I became a porn performer that I felt even more on the front line. That’s why I campaign to keep safer sex sexy and to provide real information for real men in real situations. There are always ways to keep it hot without the risk.”
Each condom package bears original artwork by Glen Hanson, the renowned artist who not only co-created the cult classic Chelsea Boys graphic novel series, but also has directed mainstream music videos and illustrated best-selling calendars. Hanson’s design for the condoms is a caricature of Cruz.
