HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Six GLBT companies were singled out for their achievements in the fields of adult Internet, adult video, and overall contribution to the GLBT scene Thursday night at the 2009 XBIZ Awards.
This year is only the second during which GLBT awards have been offered. For the second year in a row, Titan Media received the award for GLBT Studio of the Year
"We are very proud and humbled to again be recognized as the preeminent GLBT Studio of the Year," said Titan vice-president Keith Webb. "In a tough economic environment, we have been able to continue to prosper and grow thanks to the hard work and amazing creativity of the entire Titan Media team.
"We feel we have an obligation to our community to eroticize and portray only safer-sex practices in our films," he added. "I hope this award can be yet another example to others in the industry that sticking to your morals and doing the right thing can indeed have an impact on your product, your bottom line and your community. Protection and profit can indeed go hand in hand."
Raging Stallion Studios received two awards. GLBT Movie of the Year went to To the Last Man, and GLBT Director of the Year went to Tony DiMarco, Ben Leon and Chris Ward, who co-directed the big-budget, erotic western epic.
"Tony, Ben and I are very honored to receive these awards," Raging Stallion president Chris Ward told GAYVN.com. "To the Last Man is a great movie, and we really enjoyed shooting it. To have our work complimented with these awards is very rewarding for us.
"We put lots of time and effort into this movie - not to mention a huge financial investment. We are very pleased that To the Last Man is actually earning money. That says there is still a place for big-budget movies.
"All three of us also have to thank our actors and the rest of the production crew," Ward added. "Everyone rose to the occasion and helped create what I think will go down as a classic film."
