Even Jerry Douglas, a director and screenwriter who's won at least one award for every video he's done in the last two decades, has his rare bad day on the set. We're in an apartment in San Francisco and he's trying to have a guy squat down on two dicks at the same time. For years now, Douglas has attempted to capture that elusive double penetration scene in one of his story video classics, and today he's trying it with Pete Ross, Justin Gemineye, and Timmy Thomas.
One of the guys didn't clean up well enough before the sex scene and after a few apologies and a rush to the bathroom, action is ready to commence again.
Douglas asks, "How are you doing Timmy?" Still sporting a wry sense of humor, Timmy shoots back: "I just got shit on, how are you?" They dive back into the scene.
But it's late in the afternoon, the models are tired, and the dicks keep flopping out of their intended target — even when they try double-sheathing two dicks in one condom.
The scene is saved expertly. After an exchange of topping and bottoming for each other, they all jack off on Pete Ross' muscular body and wrap for the day. Pete, however, points out that he didn't get his cum-shot. It's too late, so the crew borrows the bedspread from the location to shoot Pete's money-shot another day and edit it so no one will be the wiser. Pete teases Jerry on the way out — "I'm going to come six times tonight and call you every time!"
Douglas is completing Beyond Perfect, his second video for COLT Studio Group’s Buckshot Productions — his second movie within a year, which is rare for this perfectionist who usually takes a few years between videos for pre-production planning. Douglas, who turns 70 this year, has written a detailed script about two very sexy men who are going to a couples counselor to help them with some sexual problems.
The couple is played by Brad Patton and Jason Kingsley. Flying in from his home in Amsterdam, Brad is a cute-as-a-button guy who's kewpie-doll head is put on the body of a Hercules — not surprising because that's what he played when on the Disney on Ice tour as a professional skater. And Jason had to be in airports for more than two days to make it in from his home in South Africa where he's also a musician.
Both of them are used to performing in their lives, but they weren't used to doing so much preparation for a porn video. Douglas spent a lot of time with his lead actors, even a month before the shoot, adding, "I have the phone bills to prove it!"
Brad's eyes brighten about the idea of mixing sex with acting, saying, "I wasn't prepared for the amount of dialogue, but I love the script, I love the story. I've been performing most of my life, so I was delighted to get a chance to do more."
Jason says he put the script next to his nightstand and kept thinking about his character. "Jerry gave me the tools to be the character, explaining in great detail my motivation, the way I look, the way I act," Jason says. "I'm not a drama queen, but I like drama. Jerry is like Alfred Hitchcock, because everything is precisely worked out beforehand. It's very nice. I like that."
In the scene just shot, the two connect with Ross who invites them to meet his two lovers, all sharing the same bedroom and kingsize bed. "Who's the top?" asks Brad. They all answer: "I am," and do the same when Brad also asks, "Who's the bottom?" The couple meets the triad as they are moving in with boxes marked "Leather," "Dildo," "Porn," and "Bedroom" and are coaxed onto the bed to watch. Too shy to join in, they play with themselves as they watch the threeway closely and down a lot of beer.
Ross is topping for the first time after 18 movies. He's a little nervous, but fools around with Justin's 9 1/2 inches, (seven inches around) and urges him to "make it dance." Justin rolls on a condom and tells Brad and Jason that he admires Ross, saying, "He's Air Pete, you know, like Air Jordan." The compliment is lost on the foreigners.
The day after Douglas' disappointing day on the set, he has one of his best days with a massive two-part orgy, all-oral, then all-anal — including extras — that takes place in San Francisco's Powerhouse Bar. The feature also stars Brad Benton, Marcus Iron — who, working as a production assistant, dove into the orgy scene when needed — Jason Crew, Danny Lopez, Chad Thomas, Andy Briggs, and Marc Sterling.
Jerry explains to the crowd, "You're fascinated with what's happening, and I'll be shouting directions at you, but the voice will be edited out, so don't look at me. And don't touch the actors unless I specifically ask you to!" That's a tough one for the extras, some of whom have come to try to impress the Buckshot team, some who are performing for the first time, and some who just want to watch.
"The Powerhouse has a sour smell in the daytime," quips Iron as he hauls equipment into the bar. He meets the always energetic Jason Crew for the first time near the catering table. Soon, Marcus will be going down on Crew's cock, and Crew will tell the crew, "I pop-off better with a dick inside my butt, save me for the all-anal."
It's a good day. The all-anal and all-oral scenes are completed — with perfect cum-shots — ahead of schedule.
As the team begins reviewing the footage for editing in order to get it out in December, everyone involved seems to think it's going to be a Buckshot video that's beyond perfect.
