Director Hands Solo, who everyone knows is our good friend Freddie at Video 10, made such a splash with the rim chair he designed for A Rim With a View that he's revving up for a sequel. This time he's looking for a really nice house to do the dirty work in (the original was filmed at the San Vicente Inn, better known nowadays as "Wet Palms") and he's already concocted a title:A Rim With a View: Part Deux — The Quicker Licker Upper. Too bad there's not an award for great titles!
Director Phil St. John (Skateboard Sliders, Getting It at the Rave, Czeski Friends, Way Below the Belt) is one of those multi-talented guys who doesn't confine himself to one area of expertise. Also a photographer, travel writer, and artist, St. John, whose real name is Phil Tarley, has just put up a website to display his new series of travel art, PhilTarley.com. Most people don't know that Phil is a photographer of some repute in the mainstream, and the art on his website, which he calls "syntactic assemblage," is a kind of cloning or splicing of photo images he's shot in remote areas of the world. From the Andes mountains to the Egyptian Sinai, Florida Everglades to Death Valley, Phil has some stunningly otherworldly art on the site. The pieces are Cibachrome or Lightjet Fuji Crystal Archive C Prints, all are for sale, and, he points out, are with a "rear mount frame."
It's calendar time again and one of my favorites is The Men of Lucas Kazan with a fine selection of European (mostly Italian — Kazan's specialty) studs all erect and ready. The calendar, which features such stars as Jean Franko, Matthias Vannelli, Giorgio Salieri, Max Veneziano, and Wilfried Knight, is published by classy Bruno Gmünder.
No, it wasn't that Jeff Palmer. A flurry of calls hit me a few weeks ago asking if the reports were true that pornstar Jeff Palmer had passed away. No. The man who died was, ironically, an AIDS activist. The former Falcon star, Jeff Palmer, who turned to barebacking, is happily living in the Northwest. In fact, he recently looked up former porn pup Seth Black and they sent me a photo of them frolicking in a river. Both look quite healthy and happy.
There's even another Jeff Palmer! This one does hot male photography for books and calendars and has his own website — so don't get confused!
Stud Parker Williams is the latest performer to try his hand at directing, having watched from the sidelines for about five years. His first movie, Lube Job, is out now. Chris Ward of Raging Stallion Studios gave Parker his big directing break.
Ray Dragon makes a rare re-appearance in a nonsex role as a scary hooded guard at the door to the dungeon in MSR Videos' recently released Hell Room, one of the last movies Tony Alizzi directed before he died earlier this year.
The new Jimmy Z softcore DVD series of muscle-studs stripping and gyrating for guys at clubs includes a little more than body worship. Not only do we get insights into the dancers' personalities during the DVDs' candid interviews — we also learn how they handle gropers. The DVDs also feature the stand-up comedy of Mickey Squires.
Falcon Studios scored a double signing their latest exclusives, newcomer Ralph Woods and returnee Pierre Fitch. One of the first Falcon exclusives with lots of tattoos, Pierre struck a chord with the fans as a bottom with attitude. He took a year off from the XXX biz, but after returning for Spokes 3 (filmed in October), Falcon re-signed him as an exclusive. Pierre now wants to top. Oh, and the double signing was no coincidence. Hugely-hung Ralph (ten inches!) is Pierre's BF.
Director Coco LaChine's Desperate Husbands XXX'er for All Worlds Video, I have on good authority, was viewed by at least three members of the Desperate Housewives writing team — and they loved it. They particularly enjoyed the bloopers which include some funny dialogue flubs, and some cute facial expressions by too-cute actor Brad Benton.
