Hot House Launches Site for New Movie, Offers Sweepstakes

Hot House Entertainment today announced the launch of a website devoted to their upcoming movie Justice. The site features a free triple-X preview of the film, as well as exclusive iPod clips, glamour shots of the models, and other material. Additionally, those who purchase a copy of the film before Labor Day will be entered into the “What Would You Do to Get It” sweepstakes contest, in which a $25 viewing pass to the Hot House On Demand Theater will be issued daily to one customer chosen randomly. A 37-inch Vizio flat screen LCD HDTV will later be awarded to one of those customers on Sept. 6.

If it sounds like a big deal for just another porn movie, think again. The Steven Scarborough-directed Justice is described as Hot House’s “biggest production ever,” and stars GAYVN Award-winning star Shane Rollins in what is being billed as “the tour-de-force performance of his career.”

Inspired by the oeuvre of indie film director Lars Von Trier (Breaking the Waves, Dancer in the Dark, Dogville), Justice tells the story of a young man (Rollins) falsely accused and convicted of a crime he did not commit. Finding himself in several situations that spiral out of control, the young man uses his sexuality in order to survive.

The film was shot on a sound stage with “opera-like” sets, and Scarborough tells GAYVN.com that the look of the film is the result of hiring “a really good Hollywood set designer” and artistic team who brought several of their own influences with them.

“It’s just kind of what I’ve always done and aspired to in my work—which is opera sex: very simple,” Scarborough says. “We really wanted to make it staged. We set the stage, and you’re invited into the audience to watch. It’s like a live performance. But the action is still the focus.”

As is Shane Rollins. Says Scarborough, “The most important thing about this movie is Shane Rollins, because no other performer could pull it off sexually – he’s a sexual Olympian in mind – or had the disposition or the acting skills [to do this role].”

The film will also mark Scarborough’s return to acting. The director makes a cameo in the film as a judge who sentences Rollins. But don’t expect him to start popping up in any other future titles. “I hated every second of it!” he laughs. “It gives me new respect for the boys that have to handle a lot of dialogue. It confirms that I’m way too old to be in front of the camera.”

Though Scarborough concedes that the film is somewhat “story-heavy,” he is quick to add, “It’s story-heavy, but it’s story-heavy for Hot House. I have not lost site of what our audience wants.

“We’re in the porn business; We make porn movies, period,” he continues. “This has a really good, compelling story, but it’s a Hot House movie. It’s a real sex movie.”

The film is being released in a hardcore director’s cut on two discs, with seven scenes featuring Kent North, Marco Paris, Tony Mecelli, Nick Piston, Robert van Damme, Duke Michaels, Mike Roberts, Carlos Morales, Brad Star, Marc Williams, Ty Hudson, Nick Horn, Parker Williams, Trevor Knight and Jordan Vaughn.
