VAN NUYS, Calif. - David Forest will celebrate his 60th birthday Dec. 12 with a star-studded bash at Eleven Restaurant & Nightclub. The fete will occur as part of Paul Nicholls' and Jeffrey Sanker's weekly Friday night event, Fresh, now in its second year at the West Hollywood, Calif., nightspot.
At the same time, Forest will celebrate 40 years in show business. Born and raised in Long Beach, Calif., Forest found his calling as a rock-and-roll agent and manager in 1968 after completing two years at Stanford University. Among his storied clients were the Grateful Dead, Santana, Stevie Nicks and the Carpenters. He also handled concerts for acts such as KISS, Aerosmith and David Bowie, and had a hand in introducing Hollywood to actors like Corbin Bernsen and Shaun Cassidy.
Forest shifted gears during the summer of 1981 and leapt into a career in adult entertainment, where he helped launch the careers of stars like Ryan Idol, Ken Ryker and Billy Brandt in addition to running a successful "private connections" enterprise.
Although he sold his artists management company in June 2008 and retired from adult, he continues to arrange private meetings between performers and their admirers through his company Forest Meetings. He also assists mainstream companies in securing adult "crossover" talent through Forest Casting.
"My first adult star live booking was in 1982 for Leo Ford at Private Eyes in New York City," Forest said. "The promoter was Jeffrey Sanker. It's wonderful that 26 years later, Jeffrey is promoting the event for my 60th birthday and 40-year showbiz celebration."
The event is cover charge free, but valet parking costs $10. The party starts at 11 p.m. PT.
A special VIP room has been set aside for the celebration. Invitations may be wrangled by emailing [email protected].
