The teaser trailer from Falcon Studios’ upcoming release, The Velvet Mafia has something in common with a clip from the Lionsgate film Saw 3 and one from VH1’s hit reality show Flavor of Love: All three are ranked on YouTube.com’s Top 30 "Most Linked to Clips" in their Entertainment category.
The PG-rated clip from The Velvet Mafia has had more than 12,500 views in less than a week.
Falcon Product Manager Jack Shamama said, “We are exploring a lot of new and exciting ways to market our big movie so a viral element was essential. We knew this clip would be popular, but not this popular. While it is decidedly tame by Falcon standards, this teaser trailer is the hottest thing on YouTube. I have no doubt that if they’d let us upload an X-rated clip from the movie it would be the most-viewed clip on YouTube!”
