Cruising Site Squirt.org Launches Listings Updates, New ‘Places’

MONTREAL—Squirt.org, the cruising platform for gay, bi, and curious men, has rolled out major updates to both its website and its safe-for-work dating app, SQ Dating, “giving members new ways to see who's nearby and ready to meet up, right now,” a company rep said.
On SQ Dating, Squirt has introduced Places, a brand-new feature for the app, which lets members share where they are or “where they'll be within the hour,” at public spots like bars, gyms, parks and beaches. Rather than dealing with the delays of “who swiped back,” the Places tool “helps members find out who's already nearby and available, making it easier to turn a match into a real time meetup.”
On Squirt.org, the platform has completely rebuilt its Cruising Listings, its cornerstone feature for more than 20 years. The new experience is faster and fully responsive across desktop and mobile browsers and adds real-time check-ins so members can “instantly signal they've arrived at a spot or flag plans to be there later in the day.” Every listing now shows who's currently “checked in” and members can browse active check-ins within a 45-mile radius across hundreds of thousands of member-submitted locations worldwide.
“Squirt has always been about making real-life meetups happen. With our new check-in features, members can let guys know where they are or where they’re headed, see who’s nearby, and turn a little curiosity into something more. It’s a faster, more spontaneous way to find where the action is and be part of it,” said Rob Fisher, director of product development and customer success at Squirt.
For a limited time, all Squirt.org members have unlimited access to view active check-ins across every Cruising Listing, “making it easier than ever to connect with people nearby in real time,” the rep added.
The rebuilt Cruising Listings and check-in experience are live now on Squirt.org, as well as the new Places feature, available in the SQ Dating app.
