This sequel to the first Unnatural Phenomenon (see review in AVNOctober, 1986) proves my prediction right in every way. Jean/Gene (played by Danielle/Tom Byron), the person who changes gender every 28 days, does make love to himself/herself. This extremely hot dream interlude completes a unique premise that does plenty to titillate, but never fully delivers.
As a three hour saga on two tapes Unnatural Phenomenon I & II arouses a lot of interest, but the story, once you go beyond the set-up, really doesn't develop. In Part II, a love triangle of sorts develops between gypsy Careena Collins, Paul Thomas and Byron/Danielle that makes for two steamy and erotic menage a trois segments. But it's the sex that arouses and the story is a bit of a disappointment.
But the hardcore scenes are so good, I recommend Unnatural Phenomenon II anyway. Joey Silvera takes on three girls at once and the first Careena Collins-Paul Thomas lovemaking session involves quite a bit of tease, making the payoff that much more enticing. The same intermittent sound problems that plagued Part I pop up a few times, but the direction and editing is crisp and fast-moving. This entertaining feature by toprnotch director Henri Pachard falls into a new category. I call it "maybe Shot-On-Video does have a future."
