You don't have to read Franz Kafka's The Trial before seeing this film, but it couldn't hurt. Of course, Kafka's version doesn't have nearly as much sex, but James Avalon's take does contain a few talking points you can use when you're in bed later with your sweetie. ("Say, honey, do you suppose, if we did something really nasty, they'd send over Gwen Summers and Phyllisha Anne, all decked out in those black wigs and vinyl minis, to arrest us?)
Herschel Savage is the victim ("K"), and as the gals collect a DNA sample (doggie, both cowgirl positions and plenty of oral), Savage just wants to know what it is he's supposed to have done. If you're read the book, you already know the answer.
On the other hand, we don't seem to recall Kafka writing anything about nymphettes Inari Vachs and Katie Gold getting it on with their dollies in the hallway outside Savage's apartment "You can watch but you can't touch," they chant, and he's not the only one; our eyes bugged out far enough to guarantee this pairing a pre-nom for Best All-Girl scene, admittedly as much for the characterization as for the labia-licking.
In short order, Savage finds himself assigned a defense attorney who couldn't care less about him (Tina Thomas), and a judge who looks suspiciously like Savage's girlfriend (Syren) - who, on a date at a classy restaurant, promptly dumps him in favor of the new guy she's just met (Ian Daniels). It's "ride 'em, cowboy" in the back booth before a facial finish.
The actual trial is something we've more or less seen before: Savage must compete against fellow victim/defendant Chris Cannon to pleasure Azlea Antistia and Temptress for an hour, then cum shortly thereafter. Look for paired doggie dicking, mish and facials - but for the startling conclusion, readers will just have to check out the film.
We've got to say, though, that this movie would have scored even higher if cutie Tina Thomas weren't in such a pivotal role. We have nothing against her sex scenes -- a brief horsie fuck with Mark Davis, then a long Savage b.j. -- but her dialogue delivery leaves a lot to be desired. Perhaps a day of rehearsal next time? On the other hand, Trial By Copulation scores pre-noms for Best Film, Best Screenplay (by director Avalon) and Best Art Direction (split between costumier-to-the-stars September and scenarist Anthony Crane, who doubles as a gay bartender in the restaurant scene). Just the parts with Savage walking down those dark, narrow hallways was enough to creep us out.
