Bill Waters (Mark Jackson) is a GQ-cover hunk-guy who looks like a tall, brooding Emilio Estevez. He has a nice car, a trim build and scrumptious blonde clients all over the place waving their naked bodies in his face. This is because Bill’s a diploma-waving, door-to-door masseur (from the Lloyd’s Massage Institute of Cleveland), and is certifiably qualified to feel and touch naked women.

Instead of doing “heads” like Warren Beatty in Shampoo, Bill’s a from-the-neck-down specialist. And, like Beatty in Shampoo, Bill isn’t inwardly fulfilled. In fact, at one point in the film during a riding off in the car/brooding scene (Beatty did this a lot, except he was on a motorcycle), Bill turns to the audience and asks, “well, what would YOU do?” Bill, if I were you I’d take a high dive off the Pacific Coast Highway and that would leave one less GQ-cover hunk-guy competing with ME for the babes in southern California.

Bill doesn’t know what he wants. Maybe because he’s from Cleveland, I don’t know. His beautiful blond business partner in a tanning salon venture, Suze (Kelli Konop), has just walked out of a frustrating relationship with a rich man who just can’t get his ear off the mobile phone. Does someone smell the inevitable, smoldering sexual tension-thing about to rear it’s convenient head?

Totally Exposed is a brisk, nice little film that doesn’t bait and switch you with the title. It’s cute where it has to be cute, kind of sappy where you’d expect it to be and it’s loaded to the gills with pleasing pulchritude. It also has a great boxcover. And note that May 1990 Playmate Tina Bockrath lends an eye-pleasing touch in a couple of nice nude scenes—if you’re a Playmate fancier. With this release, and a couple of follow-up titles (Hollywood Fantasys 2 & 3; Pleasure in Paradise) which you’ll be reading about in this section, Cinema Products Video is scoring impressive points in the alternative market. Definitely a company to hook up with if you’re looking for those kinds of titles.
