With a title like this, our expectations ran higher than usual. Is it any surprise that they were dashed? The only thing unbelievable about The Sweep is its originality. These meager B & D scenarios contain a single, decidedly minor twist: Lenny, inexplicably dressed like a Victoria-era chimney sweep, runs around the San Fernando Valley calling on female customers who need a broom up their flue. (Was the costume shop out of pizza delivery boy costumes that day or what?)

In any case, Mary Poppins has nothing to worry about. The filler-up brush man angle never pays off, and quicker than you can say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" the Sweep is bonding with his clients in a most unusual way. They're hog-tied, ball-gagged and swung from the ceiling in an acceptable — but hardly threatening — manner. Given that the majority of the footage is devoted to the results rather than the techniques, The Sweep is just another trussed-up struggling vid, which, pardon the pun, goes absolutely nowhere.
