Can you really only find complete sexual satisfaction within yourself? That's the question pondered in Seven Seductions Of Madame Lau, a 1981 film that is finally receiving proper video distribution.
Richard Pacheco portrays a wealthy British playboy (decent English accent) who takes his hedonistic desires to San Francisco's Chinatown for a meeting with oriental temptress Madame Lau (Annette Haven), who promises him complete sexual gratification. His fantasies are fulfilled through a series of seductively lit encounters with the popular and beautiful Haven and a slew of her assistants. Meanwhile, Annette's appearance changes for each seduction, and her stint as the Oriental Lau is very convincing.
Most of the sex scene create an atmosphere of ultimate pleasure, especially when the blindfolded Pacheco gets ravaged by five women at once. The highlight, however, has Haven giving her student an oil massage that turns into passionate intercourse. Here, the directors use the camera as a seductive tease, with it panning from Haven's trembling face slowly toward the graphic details, but never letting the viewer see too much. It's a classic sex scene and worth watching this movie for.
Pacheco, meanwhile, does find these encounters ultimately unsatisfying, but I'd be a liar if I said that I wouldn't want to be that unsatisfied.
