The annual Universal Ball presents L.A.'s most beautiful female impersonators and hottest, sexiest men in separate contests for King and Queen of the Universe. While Universal Ball, 1989 presents the queen competition, this tape shows the competition for king: a parade of body builders, go-go boys and boys next door. One contestant is worthy of a special note-the first to compete in both the king and queen judging. Views will get to see him both as a boy and  as a "girl."

Like its companion video, Boys of the Universal Ball suffers from severe production faults. The greater amount of bare flesh makes the color shifts caused by the unbalanced camera even more annoying and during one segment, the sound is abruptly cut off.

The secret of taping events like this is to make them look better on video than they did live. Not like here.
