On the back of the box for Suthern Cumfort, AVN Award magnet JacktheZipper is quoted as saying, "Vonn Fink is the new gonzo!" And while we understand where Señor Zipper was coming from with that assessment, in that Cumfort has a very raw, cinéma vérité, handheld feel to it, we're obliged to make it clear (with apologies to JTZ) that gonzo this ain?t.

No, this little number, boys and girls, resides most squarely in that non-category this writer at first goofingly dubbed Zog porn (and yes, the chances of that term actually working its way into the adult lexicon are slim to none, conceded, but let's just run with it for the moment, ?k?) – pioneered, of course, by JTZ, and added to by Kimberly Kane and now Vonn Fink. It's not gonzo, it's not alt; it's something entirely different. For lack of a better description, it's Tarantinoesque.

Suthern Cumfort is gritty, grimy? and sexy as hell. Using a few established porn starlets and a few Razördolls (basically the grittier, grimier version of the Suicide Girls), it flickers and creeps like a grindhouse picture through a series of electric scenes in warehouses, stairwells, bathrooms and other dingy locales.

A few of our favorite segments are the b/g with Riley Mason and Icarus Corpse; the threeway with Regan Reese, Marli Jane and Alec Knight; and the incredible tease dance by AVN's first-ever Underrated Starlet of the Year, Mika Tan.

Suthern men will at the very least be drawn to this. But anybody who appreciates good ol?, downhome-?n-dirty fucking is going to love it.
