I suppose crystals are going to be the ongoing plot device in adult video for awhile. I've seen six productions in the last month involving either stones or dildos, so I might as well get used to it.

Here, Rachel Ashley, for some incomprehensible reason, must take a last minute jet to surprise boyfriend Mike Homer who's working late at the office. What loyalty; although Horner's not too thrilled to see her. Rather, he introduces her to his millionaire boss Randy West who's just been dictaphoning with Rachel Ryan. Gladdened to see another Rachel barge in on the scene, West has Ashley bite on a crystal. Okay . . . yeah . . .

From here, Ashley experiences a series of hallucinogenic fits of sexual fantasy that involve freeze frame, lasers, spiraling webs of labyrinthian love fests and funhouse imagery. Makes my sexual fantasies involving glasses of cheap chablis, day-old pizza and bimbos in white leather sneakers seem rather meager by comparison.

Where to start in this visual wonderland? Director of photography Tom Brown and The Lazer Effects Crew have strutted out a dazzling array of video showmanship that makes us forget there is no story here. If not for the grandiose embellishments, the sex, other than the thunderstorm scene with Homer and Ashley in a tinselly Esther Williams bathing cap (a scene which is spectacular by any level of standards) is basic tenderfoot requirement stuff. But Strange Love stands as a craftsman's achievement in just how far the art of video can go. And Western Visuals is by far the front runner in that respect.
