Now here is an original way to make a porn flick: rent a schooner, call up some friends, find a desolate beach, and rent a video camera. VOILA, you get Snatchbucker, an adventure on the high seas. Featuring the usual male cast of Tom Byron and Ron Jeremy, Snatchbuckler is in no way innovative, but it is one of the only private-porn flicks around. Captain Lust was the first, for the record.

As entertainment though, Snatchbucker wavers between the erotic and the dull. The plot has something to do with three damsels in distress, but nothing much happens. Jeremy goes in and out while the boat goes up and down, and Byron has sex on the beach, which saves the editor from cutting to a shot of crashing waves at the moment of orgasm. Kimberly Carson does turn in a hot performance though, excelling in several sex scenes.

As mentioned above, the location photography is quite good, a welcome change from all those interiors used in most adult movies. Unfortunately, Snatchbucker is marred by the most boring music this side of Windham Hill. However, good video quality and an original concept brings Snatchbucker above average on the shot-on-video scale.
