Slave Market makes Kill Bill look like a Disney flick. Set in 17th century Constantinople, it may very well be the first animated period piece that combines a revenge theme with demons, beheadings, branding iron torture, rape-turned-love, defecation and cute cartoons bunnies.
Okay, so we lied about the bunnies - that would be positively ridiculous content for an animated film. But the other stuff? It's all there. It kinda makes sense, in its own bizarre little context, but not in a way that can be easily summarized. If Alex DeRenzy directed a cartoon version of Dark Shadows, this is what it would look like.
