The famed Billy Wilder classic Sunset Boulevard is cleverly eroticized in Jerome Tanner's classy Sinset Boulevard. While the story sputters along, the tape sizzles with sexual delight. Tanner constantly finds new and interesting ways to videotape erotic scenes, and this little gem ranks up there among his better efforts.
Mike Homer takes on the William Holden role of a down-and-out writer, getting a job delivering adult videotapes by bicycle in the year 2011. You see, President Falwell has outlawed sexvids by mail. When Horner meets up with famed 1980s porn star Nora Desmond (the Gloria Swanson role enacted with brashness and cold sensuality by Rachel Ryan/Penny Morgan), and finds that she hasn't aged in 30 years, his curiosity (not to mention his hard-on) has peaked.
He watches some of the tapes he delivers with Ryan, enabling director Tanner to effectively use a couple of the Rachel Ryan scenes previously shot. But the best sex occurs during the "regular" feature with Ryan and John Leslie especially steamy. My favorite sex scene, though, involves Shanna McCullough and Mike Horner on a desk. This women gets wilder with every feature and her later lesbian stint with Paula Winters will turn on avid lesbo aficionados as well. And, Nikki Knights is no slouch either in a great encounter with Leslie.
With all this great sex, you may not care what finally happens to Horner. But for erotic entertainment and a technically superior sexvid, Sinset Boulevard will not disappoint anyone.
