AVN Female Performer of the Year Lauren Phoenix's all-anal directorial debut ranges from pretty inspired to more routine.

The first two scenes - Phoenix/Mark Wood/Byron Long followed by Melissa Lauren/Alec Knight - radiate some serious heat, while the final three - Phoenix/Destiny/Brooklyn, Aria/Haley Paige/Lee Stone and Phoenix/Nick Manning -are in general more rote.

As a performer, the fetching Phoenix as always works hard for her money, is extremely easy on the eyes and is also pretty funny in spots with some of her ad-libs ("Jiggle that big fat ass on that fucking cock," she tells Wood as he splits her self-styled phat back with his bat.).

As a director, her freshman effort looks like a lot of other hard-edge gonzo, so her next challenge is to find her own style and distinguish herself from the pack.
