Incongruously titled, Sex Ranch is a nifty spin on the Trading Places concept with the added pleasure of some really dynamic sex scenes, thanks to the visually alluring ladies in this cast.
Ari gets her first real shot in a starring vehicle, playing a woman married to a pain-in-the-ass millionaire (Mike Horner), who treats her like he owns her. The snowbird wants to fly and offers to trade places with bimbo Sheila Stone (a brunette, here), feeling that Stone leads a more interesting sexual life. Smelling the bucks, Stone agrees, readily, and accepts the offer with predictable results.
Sex Ranch is a top-notch effort, and the erotic quality of the scenes are a grade above the usual sexvid fare. Scene for scene I'd hold these matchups to anything out there. Stone photographs sumptuously well and she turns in some truly meaningful body time with Horner and Steve Drake in separate encounters. The seduction between Ari and full-time artist/part time bartender Derrick Lane is well thought-out and orchestrated over the length of the show allowing for the proper tension and buildup.
If you're saying to yourself, oh shit, another couples' video with squeaky, hygienic sex, let me point out that the countertop threeway with Ari, Ona and Drake is as degenerate as it gets with Drake shooting a masterful geyser on Ari.
As if to add a necessary postscript, Mike Horner in one scene makes a strong point of telling Sheila Stone to get rid of the pantyhose before they fuck. Good. That finally needed to be said.
Thanks, Mike, you couldn't have put it any better than I. Now, if someone would only make a similar comment about garter belts and stockings.
