Slightly tamer by genre standards, Sex Crime is nonetheless effective because it's more attuned to character than harder entries. Although gang rape - committed by rock band members "Zero Sum" - is the inciting incident that awakens Tokano (a pretty college student) to sexual possibilities outside monogamy, this cartoon is actually closer to a chick flick. Its P.O.V. focuses exclusively on Tokano's unraveling relationship with her boyfriend Yazaki; who sets the ball in motion by first introducing her to his young pop star brother Seiki.
The difference between predictable/mediocre encounters with "good brother" Yazaki versus spontaneous/exotic gropes with "bad brother" Seiki is what makes Sex Crime such a head-trip. (The singer tends to finger his own asshole and cry out to be raped by his brother during sex with Tokano.) Now that's a case of sibling rivalry for the books.
