The most straightforward of Andrew Blake's four erotic masterpieces, Secrets actually drops the gimmicktry of his last House of Dreams, and concentrates on eight sexual vignettes, several of which are stunning in their presentation. Blake relies more on camera movement, changes in speed and lush orange and red tones that make the huge cast look golden tanned. The approach will appeal to those looking for complete sex scenes, rather than the fragmented look that made House of Dreams so boldly unique.
Not that this one isn't unique, as well. Ashlyn Gere stars as narrator and the constantly masturbating (in a limousine, sometimes kinky) madame who tells stories of her high class Beverly Hills call girls. Each of the eight sexual scenarios tells its own story —the beautiful Zara Whites uses her telescope to watch Danielle Rogers ravage Randy West, flanked by three beautiful masturbaters, and eventually is ravaged herself; a shaven and lovely Samantha Strong steals secret documents from Peter North after stealing all his juices; shieks throw money at a three-girl lesbian tryst; Zara Whites and Ashlyn Gere share lips, tongue and whips; Jeanna Fine straps on a black dildo that actually comes, etc.
The array of sex is captured in the now trademark Andrew Blake style, with quick-cut editing and flowing erotic pace that nobody has yet managed to emulate. Secrets is striking, if not quite the masterpiece of House of Dreams, and is on par with the original Night Trips as a stunning, unique, film venture, sure to delight all those who purchase or rent it.
