In a bit of a departure for Celeste, she crafts a full-on feature—albeit a pretty thinly plotted one, when it comes right down to it—about two semi-fractured souls (Riley Steele and Scott Nails) who turn to each other as potential bandages after meeting randomly at a bar in big, bad L.A.
It's admittedly a bit of an unintentional chuckle watching Steele attempt to carry off the Mametian dialogue convincingly (e.g. lines like, "I've been a decent student, a dutiful employee, but there's this voice saying, 'Why don't you just be bad? Why don't you transgress?'"), however the movie's abstract tone makes it seem almost apt.
Nails is actually the true lead and anchor of Honey, handling his own part—and the included drillings administered to Steele and Nicole Ray (the latter of whom squirts repeatedly)—quite deftly, indeed. Allyssa Hall completes the blonde trifecta making up the female contingent of this cast, doing a fine job herself scaling Danny Mountain. Overall, a very enjoyable, sexy little drama.
