Vivid DVDs seem to have settled into a comfortable level of mediocrity. In recent months. Vivid Interactive has become more focused on making room for tons of DVD extras than providing excellent image quality. The actual videos and films on Vivid's DVDs have suffered at the expense of an entire suite of bells and whistles, most of questionable merit. High bit rates have been sacrificed so "benefits" like additional angles (which are mostly soft cable coverage), cast bios (which are nothing more than thinly-disguised Vivid ads), pointless Vivid Girl promos, and clunky, unfortunate interactive "games" could be added. This is a perfect example of the imitative fallacy that since viewers enjoy multiple angles, nothing else matters.

The result has been a general decline in video quality since Vivid's early, excellent discs. Both Vagablonde and Party Favors suffer from bitmapping and pixelation, with the image on Party Favors being little better (if at all) than the original VHS tape.
