Welcome, my friends, to the mysterious dark corner of the world known as the macabre.  We are introduced to a young successful doctor.  He is an unassuming surgeon about to skillfully perform an autopsy, perhaps one of hundreds in his career. However, instead of the routine corpse he expects, a breathtakingly beautiful young woman lies beneath his scalpel.

Life is started by the presence of a third party in the private pathological laboratory – the devil himself!  Satan makes a pact with our young doctor: if he makes love to this deceased goddess she will come alive and belong only to him.  But naturally, there’s a catch.  What follows is a long and drawn-out battle pitting the doctor and his love against the devil, disciples thereof and the occult.

Susan Keiger, the former Playboy centerfold slithers on the screen (although too briefly) as the sensuous snake lady.  What she does with a giant Boa would make even Indian Jones cringe!

The whole effect of Deadly Love is dark and eerie with loud, overbearing background moans and howls in addition to strange occult melodies.

The camera work is equally mystic with dark, low-angled shots and smoky, poorly-lit settings.

Many of the masks and monstrous makeup remind me of the “Thriller” video tape. In fact, some of the actors probably went to the same school for acting as did Michael Jackson.

Deadly Love is well-executed.  However, only the devil himself would let me give this cassette a higher rating.
