A sacrilege is a desecration of something sacred, and in this unusual film set in the early 1600's, a young Italian nobleman has his eyes on a luscious nun in a convent. With the help of a priest who wishes to see her downfall for political reasons, he is finally able to get his way with her.  But he does not stop there!  Soon he is making it with a couple of other beautiful nuns too. When the church hierarchy finds out, they have little choice but to send her to prison and plot to have him killed.

Sacrilege is a fascinating movie which can be viewed on a couple of different levels. As a sizzling video aimed at those interested in beautiful women placed in situations loaded with smoldering sexuality, it is a grand success. Beneath the surface, though, this neat little thinkpiece asks the probing question: under what circumstances are we free to love whom we want?

Tasteful nudity, strange music and believable sets add to this tape's enjoyment. The only drawback is the "suffer for your sins" ending tacked on.
