With pluck, determination and skill, multi-talented Candida Royalle has crafted a compelling adult feature.

My Surrender is specially designed for couples.  Huge close-ups of jizz-splattered faces are conspicuously absent.

Jeanna Fine plays an amateur erotica "artiste" who's drawn to the images while she edits, but outside of the cutting room, she's repressed.  It takes an introspective man like Alex Sanders to get her going.

At first she lets her mind slip into a photography fantasy where Alex firmly commands her how to act, but this eventually leads to a real-life encounter which is all roses and tenderness.

Interspersed throughout this thin but satisfying story are a number of scenes which feature Fine's reactions to the amateur couples having sex in her studio, the most explicit being a Mark Davis/Jill Kelly grope, which actually does show a pop shot from afar.

For such a politically correct video, it was almost a shock to witness Gina Rome and Claudio balling beside a casket!  Either this is a lapse of taste on Candida's part or, as we prefer to believe, a sly wink to the audience that she doesn't take this "couples" stuff so seriously after all.

Sharp editing and Fine's nomination-worthy performance make this a worthwhile addition to retailers with serious crossover clientele.
