In near perfect manner, director Paul Thomas has satirized Outrageous Fortune, that Shelly Long/Bette Midler comedy which was such a big theatrical hit earlier this year. And guess what? Outrageous Foreplay is better. It’s funnier and has more sex.
Not that I’d like to see Bette Midler do hardcore; in fact, that’s a frightening thought. But Keisha plays Midler’s role very well and she’s devastatingly hot in all her sexual shenanigans. Nina Hartley plays Shelly Long to perfection, and… she’s a far more interesting actress. To describe her sexual liaisons as devastatingly hot, though, would be to do her injustice.
Do I have to repeat the story? Two girls, both aspiring, but untalented actresses, fall in love with the same slob, ‘er guy, and experience comical hijinx. Mix in some FBI/CIA/Russian spy gibberish and you have a witty, well-paced script.
Sexually, six… count ‘em… six scenes stand out: Mike Horner and Keisha; Nina Hartley and Robert Bullock; Keisha and Bullock; Nikki Knights and Tom Byron; Keisha and Hartley; Keisha, Hartley and Silvera. All great, all hot, all sexy.
Everything else is fine, technically, with Paul Thomas capturing the true flavor of the original, without messing up the erotic parts. He’s new to directing, but Thomas is quickly becoming one of the best in the business. Outrageous Foreplay is an entertaining, steamy and all-around great sexvid.
