A valiant attempt at something new in the shot-directly-on-video genre of adult videocassettes, Mud Madness, the first in AVC’s 3-D Home Cinema series, proves that you can get real 3-D depth of perception on your home television screen.  Unfortunately, full advantage of the opportunity has not been taken in this release.

The 3-D process is extremely effective, and a few scenes – including a Ron Jeremy wet shot – do make you duck.  But for the most part, all you see through the 3-D glasses is a better quality hour-long video escapade that’s no different than any of the Swedish Erotica or Gourmet series.  The direction is too static to have anything extraordinary jump out at you.

Nevertheless, the presence of Rhonda Jo Petty and Ron Jeremy make the mud wrestling premise pretty interesting. After an extended sexual interlude between the two stars, Rhonda Jo and her friend, Nancy, begin a sexual mud odyssey that includes every conceivable position.  And there’s a few headlocks, too.

Those who enjoy this type of sexual mini-skit videotape rather than the full length feature adult movie, will probably get more out of Mud Madness than the average adult viewer.  But it’s still merely a novelty item for most.
