Perhaps one fundamental question to ask in assessing Miami Spice II is, how does Randy West go from being a big cheese power magnate in the original feature to a male stripper in the sequel? Commodities crash in the market is my guess.
This go-round, featuring vice cops Amber Lynn and Sheri St. Clair still making goo goo eyes at one another in the front seat of their Testosteroney (with automatic transmission), is basically good cop, bad cop, nail John Leslie. Leslie smirks and makes like a roman emperor since the drug market, unlike commodities for West, has been very very good to him. The best that money can buy? Leslie even gets to have four way shuffle with Danielle, Stacey Donovan, Cindy Arhh and Candie Evans (the bimbo in residence from the first feature). Kilo for kilo, the best sex scene in the flick.
Donovan, extending her role as an adult industry parakeet, plays an alleged sour cop. It's all a ruse, you see, to get the goods on Leslie, and another bum cop who's running around doing bad Edward Olmos imitations. Donovan and Leslie generate multitudinous sparks in previous Alex De Renzy features and have a grand old reunion, here, of libidos by the bay.
Miami Spice II, thanks to the ingratiating infuse of lush Miami scenery manages to hold its own, but is a tad on the slow side of the original's spark; while Lynn held down the fort in Part I, St. Clair really struts her sexy stuff in this one.
