An odd couple of cops from the GTA (Grand Theft Auto) unit track down a killer while taking turns bedding a witness to the crime.
Barrett Blade is tattooed, chain-smoking, trash-talking; Eric Masterson is an uptight vegetarian with an alienated wife. When Jesse Jane sees boyfriend Lee Stone gunned down in cold blood by a gang lord, they are assigned to protect her. She gets kidnapped, and there's a dramatic rescue.
Nic Andrews paces the drama briskly and stages the action sequences well. Car chases, explosions, shootings are all slickly accomplished.
Jesse Jane is, naturally, gorgeous to look at and she turns on the heat in the sex scenes. But, as an actor, she's still pretty awkward. She does make an effort, though, and shows future promise. Her extra DVD boff with Blade makes up for a lot.
Blade comes off best as the cowboy cop. What he lacks in smoothness he makes up for in energy and charisma. Masterson is a good actor, though his high-pitched voice (part of his character) gets to be irritating. Asia Carrera is smoothly convincing as the cops' supervisor, and Tyce Bune makes a good, sleazy villain, but the rest of the acting is pretty poor.
The sex is all well performed, but, passion-wise, not a whole lot more. Still, this is a first-class production, most entertaining as a combination of story and sex. The well-produced DVD is loaded with interesting extras.
