LadyLibertine was something of an anticipated title back in 1983 when the star of the film, French game show hostess Sophie Favier, sued to stop it from coming out. Unsuccessfully.

So, how is it? Kind of like something you'd expect to see if it were 1987 and you were watching Cinemax at 5am. Which is not to say it's bad, but it's got a certain ... cheese ... to it.

For those looking for hardcore porn, however, there might be a certain amount of disappointment, even among films of the day. It's not what you might call exciting. More often, Lady Libertine plays like an art film with some sex scenes in it.

Oh, and Favier is gorgeous. She had nothing to be ashamed of.
