Kay is the only human being credited in this Japanese import. Given the dispassionate nature of the goings-on, even her inclusion by name seems like an afterthought. Essentially a series of blackout vignettes set in a large house, the director has seen fit to make Kay and her various male partners act as robotized as possible, performing the motions of sex without experiencing the pleasure. We suspect Kokeshi will mainly appeal to men who objectify women.

Kay undergoes a series of blowjobs and facials with all the enthusiasm of an auto mechanic tuning up a set of spark plugs, and a subsequent encounter finds her tied up in fetish gear while a man teases her with toys. The results reveal a highly competent exercise, which is also every bit as unnatural and discomforting as it is technically precise.
