Although this documentary could have used a lot more archival footage of Wadd in action, the talking-head style vid still rivets in telling the story of porn's first male superstar, massively endowed John "Wadd" Holmes. The interview footage from old-time associates of Holmes' (William Margold, ex wife Laurie Holmes) paints a fully-realized, fascinating picture of life in the "Other Hollywood" of the 1970s as well as a look into the conflicting nature of Wadd's fucked-up personality, although the post-death transformation of a scraggly, drug-addled porn dude into a towering superstar sometimes provides more unintended comedy than anything else.
