For those who haven't the time to wade through coils of plot before drinking in a faceful of screen sex, these half-hour tapes will save you the trouble of endless fast-forwarding. Jerome Tanner has taken selected scenes from some of his Western Visuals features, and slapped them under the heading of a particular woman, wild though she may be.

There's nothing really unusual on any of these tapes (Taija Rae does do a long integrated bit) but Tanner's sophisticated video styling is what makes them interesting. His approach to video has always been notable for good lighting, editing, camerawork and special effects. His use of slow motion, stop motion, superimposed images, color effects, and even audio effects (echo, for instance) go a long way toward livening up your standard 10-minute coupling.

Of course, the woman being coupled is a very important consideration. Nina Hartley gets three A's just for being Nina Hartley. Careena Collins brings plenty of youthful energy to her moaning, and the presence of the divine Buffy Davis in one of Careena's scenes only improves the situation. Angel has sort of a cold centerfold look about her, but gets down with Peter North and Harry Reems pretty hard. I think Taija Rae's massive tape exposure may be stretching her a little thin. Her act, at least here, doesn't have the same punch as her companions in wildness. However, I'm sure her devoted fans will love every minute of her.

Anyway, here's hoping Mr. T keeps up the good work. Video wizardry and nearly impeccable technical qualities (and now and again a truly dazzling sex bomb) are just what the doctor ordered.
