After watching Ingrid: The Whore of Hamburg, and Olinka: The Grand Priestess Of Love, I found myself surprised. Caballero maintains the top position among the major companies because most of their productions are top quality. But even the best puts out a stinker or two and these foreign features maintain little eroticism and poor production values.
Both films feature the same blonde Marilyn Monroe look-alike, Olinka, in the title roles, but that is where all continuity ends. Chop-happy editing and poor camera handling and positioning interrupt every sex scene, some of which show climaxes in the beginning of the action while others break away with everyone still pumping. Also, there are a couple of beach sex encounter that start out steamy but quickly fizzle under poor direction and photography.
Because of weak plots, the directors are able to jump from scene to scene for no reason. Costumes and sexual partners change with the wink of an eye, leaving the viewer groping through an orgy of scenes, not sex. The constant moaning and groaning of the voice dubs is also distracting and annoying.
The only thing that makes sense about these films is the lack of production credits. After plodding through two hours of Olinka and Ingrid, I can understand why nobody wants their name associated with them.
And that’s why I was surprised to see the Caballero label. In the increasingly competitive adult film market, Caballero is remembered for films like Talk Dirty to Me and Satisfactions, and no excuses for bad sex like Olinka and Ingrid.
