Run, do not walk, to your neighborhood video tore and see this adult remake of Heaven Can Wait before Warren Beatty decides to sue, because this version is not only one of the hottest adult films to come down the pike in a while, but might just be better than his.
A mild-mannered accountant (Michael Knight) for a large corporation engages in some inter-office shenanigans with three-count 'em-three secretaries at once with assembly line efficiency, when his heart, not surprisingly, gives out. At the entrance to those pearly gates his death is discovered to be premature. Knight's old body, however, was cremated, so the truly heavenly assistant (Veronica Hart in an unbilled role) gives him another body: his boss'.
Problems arise when this "wife" (Sharon Kane) and her lover-butler (Ron Jeremy) try to kill him by, ironically, wearing his heart out through sex. Knight can't die, of course, and happily ploughs his way through a rich widow (Kelly Nichols), a dancer (Joanna Storm), a professional dominatrix (Cheri Champagne) and assorted lovelies, until Hart returns to rectify his problem for good.
The imaginative sex scenes in this film are liberally sprinkled throughout the witty screenplay. Aside from a potent threesome that opens the film and an orgy scene at a wild night-club, my favorite has to be Knight receiving oral sex while standing in an open-top limousine. And, refreshingly, there is no obligatory lesbian scene.
As for the top-notch acting, Kane and Jeremy make a fantastic couple of plotters, and Jeremy has the line of the movie. When asked by Kane if the giggling maid suspects them of hanky-panky, he replies, deadpan, that "she always giggles . . . so did her mother." Gayle Sterling is alternatively winsome and wild as Knight's true love. And Knight's imitation of Warren Beatty seems more like Barry Bostwick in Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Without a doubt, this is one of the finest adult films I have ever seen, possibly one of the best ever. You'll have the devil to pay if you miss it.
