The sets are great, the setup is priceless, and Frank Bukkwydd and Nina Hartley really shine – but a surprising lack of chemistry and sexual heat renders Ginger's Island a huge disappointment.

Hartley's dinner table dorking with John Decker manages some sparks, but the remainder of the sex scenes are about as satisfying as Bob Denver's aborted clinches with Tina Louise and Dawn Wells in the original series.
