Like a one-act off-Broadway play with an almost bare stage, Anthony Spinelli's Expert Tease continues his series of little sexual morality plays. The same subject areas are explored here: insecurity, jealousy, angst, etc.
Although not quite Spinelli's best, viewers will be treated to some very steamy sexual liaisons, mostly involving the wonderful Shauna McCullough. She and John Leslie experience a not-to-happy relationship, and he sends her off so they both can explore sex with other partners. Although McCullough's scene with Leslie and her lesbian encounter with Meggan Leigh are wonderfully erotic, her affair with Mike Horner really swelters.
As the plot thickens, a truly surprise ending gives the story its ironic feel. This offsets the dull settings, as this feature seems to have been shot in two rooms. Leslie and McCullough once again prove that their acting rivals most of today's acclaimed television stars and Barbie Dahl, lovingly featured on the packaging, does a nice turn as Leslie's sexual object for an evening.
Everything is technically first-rate Spinelli with a script by Michael Ellis that is his usual well-written. Terrific sex and acting overshadow any inconsistencies making Expert Tease a worthy addition to your collection. It's mind-boggling to think what Anthony Spinelli might do with a half-million dollar budget.
