There are people in the world who actually like Dallas, Dynasty and all those other prime-time soap operas that begin with a "D", and then there are those who think their casts should be put on a barge, towed to the Marianas Trench and sunk. Count me in the latter group. So of course, I'm going to respond favorably to an adult film that spoofs that genre... especially if it does it well. And this one does.
The plot, as one might expect, is right out of Wednesday night at 9:00: people screwing each other for promotions, for votes on the Board of Directors, for revenge... even a few for fun! But it's not what they do; it's how they do it. For one thing, at least these people talk about how much they're enjoying what they're doing. There's definitely not enough of that in adult cinema today. And, except for Amber Lynn, they don't sound like they're making up their lines as they go along.
Nearly everyone in this all-star cast gives a sterling performance. Jamie Gillis is the male lead, and we're treated to his milder side, which is too rarely seen these days. His first encounter, with "Dr. Nancy Romance" (who wears a mustache) is hilarious... a nice counterpoint to his bedding the lovely, temperature-raising Jacqueline Lorians. The Joan Collins-like character is handled superbly by Laurie Smith, who gets to make it with just about everybody in the cast, including Jamie's wife (Joanna Storm) and his secretary (Amber). And unlike soap operas, this film has an ending. And it's a happy one at that, with rival factions screwing each others' brains out. A real treat for the senses. Even the background music deserves a good word.
Extra Added Attraction: a well-done music video featuring Teresa Orslowski. I (and probably you) will be looking for more of her!
