Time was in this business, if you had a nickel for every spin on the TV series name, you could buy out the Trump empire. That's not saying much, now; and neither is it to say that the script of East LA Law is better than most of the adult scripts out there. The advertising on a No. 2 pencil is more intriguing than some adult material these days.
Let's give credit here to the versatility of Wayne Summers for bringing off a goofy concept. Buy this one. Summers and Peter North play a couple of Puerto Rican lawyers, hired by Mercedez Lynn to find her hooker-sister who's being held against her will by a small time hood, named Johnny Rico. First off, I'm delighted to see Summers' rekindle his "Rican" character from VCA's goofy Hollywood Bikini Party Girls. Summers was funny then, he's funny now. But North? It's a stretch —on the viewers' part.
Expect some moments of cerebral down time for a couple of gratuitous brothel scenes —Rusty Rhodes taking on Tom Chapman between her boobs, is worth catching, though. After a couple of these pit stop, the plot picks up more twists than a warped pretzel and takes on a Maltese Falcon, hidden treasure gambit.
Entertaining, with decent acting and a couple of robust threesomes and foursomes to make it very worth your while. Alexandria Quinn and Mercedez deliver hot, sizzling performances.
