Doin' the Ritz tells the tale of Roger Ritz (Oscar) and his attempt to open a hotel/nightclub in '50s Manhattan with recently-divorced dance team McCullough and Morgan. The clever script by George Kaplan displays the fine acting skills of all concerned, with Tony Tedeschi playing his comedy relief tough-guy part for all it's worth, and Dave Hardman showing unexpected thespic skill as Tedeschi's stooge.
Five languidly-paced sex scenes (plus a throwaway quickie blowjob) are well-photographed and well-edited. Period-sounding big band music is also a plus. Shanna McCullough is a particular standout in her sex scene, seducing Ardell before the two are joined by Peter North.
Stock in the couples section.
