Four zipless older-women-younger-men encounters, delivered with a knowing wink and high production value.
Maitland Ward, in a low-cut figure-hugging dress, welcomes cleaner Chris Diamond, purring, "My realtor gave you a big recommendation," and pointing out that the A/C is on the blink, "so feel free to take your shirt off." After some burlesque time-shifting scene-setting, he takes off more than that—his and hers in an energetic set-to in a living room flooded with natural light that leaves Ward sweaty and bedraggled and Diamond spent.
Savannah Bond squirts some mayo on a sandwich she's making for Alex Jones, who responds with a polite, "Thank you, Mrs. Bond." When she finds out that Jones has a 13-hour drive back to his campus and just broke up with his girlfriend, she invites him to "Call me Savannah" and call her any time for advice or just to talk. "Talk about what?" he inquires. "Whether it would be okay to open your pants ... right ... now."
Football mom Penny Barber "was always baking," recollects Dante Colle: "I swear, she baked a cake for every birthday in a five-mile radius." Now, right before college, he's doing odd jobs around her house, "and I vowed to get her naked before summer was over." He misses his first shot at her, but when he sheepishly walks in on her looking like a toner cartridge exploded on him, she tells him she'll have to launder those dirty clothes, just throw 'em in the washer here.
Closer has Jones back for seconds, drunk in the back of a rideshare and waking up in a pink bedroom as Alexis Malone—his girlfriend's mother—plops a breakfast in front of him and explains that he has to stop coming here after a drunk night because his girlfriend is in college on the east coast and you two broke up anyway. The sexual tension is palpable as he showers and she tries to find him something to wear. He finally admits, "I've been coming here for you." She walks out of the room—and then comes back with a box of sex toys, explaining, "This is what gets me off."
Well-paced and entertaining.
