Four atmospheric vignettes.
At the late-night laundromat, Kenzie Reeves' roomie dances in discomfort, stymied by a locked restroom. Reeves breezily suggests that he use the one at home ("Four blocks away?!?") and, faced with the inevitable, he splits to do just that. Anton Harden emerges from the restroom when Reeves knocks, and she leaps into his arms and they do dirty things while the clothes get clean.
In a hotel room, would-be groom Manuel Ferrara looks wistfully at an unoccupied white gown that should be wrapped around his no-show bride. Bridesmaid Anna Claire Clouds reassures him ("It's just cold feet. She's my sister, she'll come around.") and tries to distract him with a board game. When he spends too much time staring at his game piece, Clouds tells him, "Make your move." There's a genuine feeling of we-shouldn’t-be-doing-this throughout the scene, which is significantly followed by the next scene, which starts with Jazmin Luv checking into a hotel. When bellman Anton Harden sees her wedding gown in a bag, he asks, "Big day coming up?" to which she sneers, "Not really." Harden delivers her room service order and, later, a toothbrush and a razor. When she asks for shaving cream to go with the razor, Harden says there should be some in the restroom. "Can you show me?" she asks, and when he does she throws off her robe, puts one foot up on the bathroom counter, and starts to use it. She tells Harden that getting married was her mother's idea and he agrees: "You’re too pretty to settle." When he says, "If there's nothing else I can do for you...?" and starts to leave, she stops him. "I could use some towels." The scene is highlighted with creative camera angles and real tension before the inevitable hookup.
In the closer, Azul Hermosa poses in a makeshift studio for a lingerie fashion shoot—seamless backdrop, wind machine, the whole nine—when Big Boss Mick Blue struts in to size things up: "You hand the girl flowers and a pretty dress. How original," he snarls. Blue grabs the camera himself and clears the room. He tells Hermosa, "Do something that makes me look twice. Now." He takes control of the shoot, posing Hermosa, grabbing a tie from her gown and binding her hands with it as she watches in confused anticipation. He gags her with another gossamer strip, and continues to press his advantage in classic casting couch fashion. The studio lights caught flaring in the background add to the atmosphere in this scene.
