Walking the line between featurette and full-fledged feature, this three-scene screwballer from parody maestro Axel Braun still manages to pack in more memorable performances, eye-popping visual wizardry and all-around entertainment bang than most productions twice as big.
There’s scarce resemblance between this and last summer’s big screen Black Widow blockbuster—save for its centering on the title character (played stupendously here by Lacy Lennon) and her adoptive sister Yelena Belova (Elena Koshka, also stupendous)—so comparing the two bears little point. What does demand mention is the absolute cavalcade it offers of in-jokes, sly references and laugh-out-loud jabs not just at all manner of Marvel Cinematic Universe lore, but ping-ponging around to everything from OnlyFans to Star Wars to ’NSync to Braun’s own previous “AxelVerse” entries. (And do not miss the shout-out to his fellow triple-X auteur Kayden Kross ... priceless.)
In the sex department, Black Widow XXX serves up nothing run-of-the-mill. It starts with a b/b/g between Lennon, John Strong and Mick Blue that rightfully picked up a 2022 AVN Awards nomination for the newly renamed Best Tag-Team Sex Scene, and ends with what might be described as a double b/g with Lennon and Ramon Nomar pairing up beside Koshka and Seth Gamble (reprising his AVN Award-winning Deadpool role, for which he’s now been nommed again), both couples going through the same series of positions—it’s plot-related to a degree, but we won’t spoil it. In between, Lennon has a tryst with trans superstar Casey Kisses that does not disappoint in its acrobatic vigor.
Porn parodies on this level are few and far between these days—it’s reassuring to see Braun keeping the beloved tradition alive ... even if in slightly abbreviated form.
