So close and yet so far. Once again NJ Black Lee collects a delightful assortment of amateur black female talent - complete with giggles, grumbles, nervousness and enthusiasm - and then proceeds to babble over the top of them, edit them abruptly, muddy their dialogue, jiggle the camera and blast reggae music. The settings are humble but interesting, although there's nary a beach to be found, and the activities are often simultaneously familiar and alien. The box cover is great and will attract eyes, but has nothing to do with the contents of the tape.
