If you don't happen to have the PLAYBOY channel, then you should make a point to take home any of these editions of Electric Blue. What this magazine-formatted series offers is the most erotic eye candy available in adult entertainment. The Marilyn Chambers tape kicks off with Marilyn lounging around the pool between takes of one of her Private Fantasies series. Keeping her pubes exposed throughout, Marilyn introduces Cody Nicole. They have a short softcore encounter that segues into a delicious segment about a woman and her chauffeur. The ever-present softcore photo shoot appears in almost every installment, titillating and teasing, always stopping right about the place most X-rated setups begin. "Personal Services," an erotic telephone network is showcased with Colleen Brennan taking us through a documentary-style look at porn stars making and taken calls from fans. Lois Ayres is also featured in this erotic-packed hour of programming.
Cruisin' Beverly Hills is hosted by Vanessa Del Rio who can suggest more with a curl of her lip than some new starlets can in a full-length video. Stacey Donovan and Peter North appear as cop and robber respectively, getting it on after he gets caught with the goods. Two of producer Harold Lime's classic films, The Ecstasy Girls, and Amanda By Night, are critiqued in a most intelligent and tasteful handling of X-rated viewing, but a segment on self-proclaimed Euro sensation Armanda Leer follows, breaking up the flow of this installment. Alas, nothing goes on for more than a minute or two here, making it tolerable.
Salute to Working Women and Knockers are fun entertainment with Knockers boasting the big-boobed bevy of Candy Samples, Annie Sprinkle, and Laura Louise, as well as Danielle, Susan Hart, and Veronica Vera. The pacing of the shows enables one to be as entertained as watching any major network news magazine and offers the added bonus of naked flesh. Salute to Working Women focuses on Capt. Sticky, a do-googer who has the likes of Desiree Lane, Kimberly Carson, Misty Dawn, and Shauna Evans as his trusty helpers. A review segment on The Story of O reminds us that eroticism need not be explicit to be entertaining.
Overall, these tapes have been the most erotic and entertaining softcore video this critic has seen. What I hope continues is the inspiration and thought that went into the handling of this set of cassettes.
