As the economy continues to falter and DVD sales slump, it’s notable that 2010 has brought so many major adult movies, all produced on levels rarely seen before, with the exception perhaps of the Pirates saga. Whether Joone’s duet of masterpieces set the bar impossibly high or just created goals for other adult moviemakers would be an interesting debate. But the porn consumer is the winner, as BatfXXX: Dark Night provides yet one more production that looks and feels Hollywood, while sizzling in the sex department.

Sophisticated, erotic and visually gorgeous, the second major Batman parody released this year distinguishes itself as a hardcore take on the Christopher Nolan feature films, rather than the classic 1960s television program (Axel Braun’s take for Vivid satirized that perfectly), with a stunning array of nine sex scenes, including five sumptuous orgies, and costumes, art direction and special effects that can stand comfortably against its major studio counterparts. As directed by Nicholas Steele, this is a great, overstuffed erotic motion picture. With warring villains and a multi-textured plot that concentrates on The Jo-Kerr (Paul Chaplin) using his laughing gas to try and put The Bat (Nick Manning) out of commission for good, BatfXXX: Dark Night uses its two discs and four-hour running time to flex its bat wings and present sex and action in equal measures.

A year in the making and looking like it cost millions (it didn’t), BatfXXX meshes camp with seriousness, and crams so many classic villains from the Batman comics into one story that you’ll need a scorecard to follow the players. Often well-acted, sometimes over-acted and always looking tremendous, it veers from drama to action/comedy to explicitness seamlessly, with some nasty group sex scene to always keep the viewer grounded.

And oh, those sex scenes. Each of the five orgies make sense plot-wise, especially with the Jo-Kerr spraying that gas into everyone’s faces, making them exceedingly horny, as well as giggly. Each of the orgies is expertly crafted and edited, and none fall victim to group sex for group sex's sake, as they all work well, as do the smaller group scenes (there are no couples scenes, but two scenes featuring only three performers).

The opening three-way sex scene with The Bat, Kristina Rose and Blake Rose sets the tone for the eroticism we are about to experience. As Manning stays in uniform and character, Blake sucks his cock and shoves it into Kristina’s pussy while continue to service both of their genitals. Kristina violently shoves Blake’s head onto Manning’s cock, and she doesn’t flinch when the cock hits her throat. A great freestyle fuck session ends with the two girls swapping cum.

While the 12-person “laughing gas” orgy is nothing to guffaw at, a bigger orgy at a strip club (seven girls and six guys) really steams things up as Jo-Kerr takes over the club, sprays to his heart’s delight, and some crazy fucking ensues, ending with the better part of seven girls’ faces covered in cum. The best orgy, however, is an indefatigable five-girl/four-guy fuck fest where Bobbi Starr, one of porn’s prettiest and hottest stars, takes a dominant role, but with star sexual turns also from Krissy Lynn (Robina), Madelyn Marie (Katwoman), sexy redhead Dani Jensen and Carolyn Reese. Director Steele manages to capture Jensen and Paul Chaplin in a full 69, sharing the screen while Starr is getting unmercifully fucked. Choking, hair pulling, intense screwing and tons of cum in girls' mouths (and exchanged) highlight a stunning group effort, which features squirting and a simultaneous pop shot.

Meanwhile, Mr. Pete as the villainous Two-Face (great make-up) manages to fuck Janey James and Andy San Dimas in a terrific threesome; Tory Lane (as Poisen Ivy) uses her lair for a stunning, colorful eight-person orgy on a set that cost more than most productions’ entire budgets, with birds chirping and cum flying; and the 12-person finale, where Katwoman, Jo-Kerr, The Bat and an array of sluts including Jenny Hendrix, Nika Noire and Isis Love (Batchick) is intriguing, hot and looks almost multi-dimensional.

Needless to say, every technical aspect within BatfXXX: Dark Night is perfectly executed, right down to the special effects and editing. An unobtrusive musical score punctuates the action sequences and sex at the right moments. And all of the performers do consummate work in their roles, whether delivering the tricky dialogue or sucking the last drop of semen. There are so many characters that some show up then fall out just as quickly, but not before engaging in some sort of deviant sexual activity.

This is a sexually superior parody that really raises the bar; an excessive masterpiece that will thrill, seduce and even draw some laughs.
